The Story of Cotton!

The Story Of Our Cotton: A Video Blog!

Three years since the deaths of 1,134 workers in Rana Plaza Factory, Bangladesh. But have retailers made efforts to improve since then? Over 90% of companies still don’t know where their cotton comes from….so how can they ensure workers are protected?

Garment workers continue to earn amongst the lowest wages. An average Indian factory wage is €51.70 per month, for 12-18+ hour shifts, often 7 days per week in unsafe and illegal conditions. 168 to 200 million children remain trapped in child labour, many of these in the garment industry.

At White & Green we’ve created a NEW story. From farm to factory, we treat our workers with dignity and respect. We use only 100% organic cotton, protecting people and the planet. We are also Fairtrade certified, guaranteeing safe labour practices and fair wages.

Here’s a short video from our recent trip to India. Now you too can meet the wonderful people who make our products. We hope you enjoy our story! When you buy organic and Fairtrade, you can truly change lives for the better!
