As the madness of Christmas and New Year’s is over, we like to think of January as a little bit of a ‘detox’ month in many ways, and not just for your body.
It is the perfect time to clear out the old, and bring in the new. Women on average, put around 468 chemicals on their skin every.. single.. day. Most of us, don’t even realise we are doing it, or know where the chemicals are coming from.
From your household cleaning products, to fragrances, to face creams and clothes, I am going to tell you about some amazing products to transform your home, and yourself, into a chemical free way of life this January and how to detox from all the nasties!
Unfortunately, chemicals are absolutely everywhere nowadays, and in every product available in the supermarket. Chemicals can lead to skin conditions like rashes and eczema, headaches and even worse so, they are severely carcinogenic causing cancer and disease.
The best way to understand ‘chemically filled products’ is to look at the label, if there are masses of words you don’t even understand- these are more than likely toxic chemicals which should not be present in the home, especially around babies and young children.
Here is a list of some of our favourite chemical-free, natural products to replace the old with:
Lilly’s Eco Clean Products:
This amazing brand has a range of household cleaning products like washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets. Made entirely from natural products such as tea tree oil and vinegar they are entirely chemical free with an amazing cleaning power.
Ecover:
We swear by this brand, and our entire house is filled with bottles of it. Ecover is again, a brand of household cleaning products and laundry detergents and they even do a range of 0% fragrance products, for the highly sensitive. These are a must have!
Ila Skincare:

Neom Organics:
Now this is a brand, that I could fill my entire house with. Neom do a range of 100% Organic fragranced candles, perfumes and bath & body products. Their candles are so heavily scented (naturally) you only need to light for 5 minutes before the room is filled with it’s heavenly scent. This is such a gorgeous brand, and I highly recommend for anyone looking for nice, natural fragrances.
Natural Shampoo and Conditioner:
This is one of the most important aspects to “detox” from, and that is chemically filled shampoos and conditioners. After switching over to natural shampoo, I actually can’t use chemical shampoos anymore a they irritate my scalp so much!

Of course, switching your food to natural and organic is vital too, support your local veg shop and meal prep! Prepare, if you have time on a Sunday and freeze meals in containers.
Echinacea:
This is a miracle tablet! Echinacea helps build your immune system to fight off any cold or flu and it really does work. You take 2 tablets everyday and it is the perfect thing to fight off a nasty sickness this January.
