Each week, What Matters Most interviews a revolutionary leader from the business and activism world about what is most important to them in their life and work. We are deeply inspired by these people and we hope our readers will be too!
Jonathan Mitchell is Founder of Brothers We Stand, an ethical men’s clothing retailer, set up with the vision of supporting it’s customers to build a wardrobe of stylish and sustainably made menswear. The team carry out rigorous research and every product in their collection is produced ethically, is designed to look good, and made to last. Brothers We Stand believe in celebrating the positive aspects of production without greenwashing, and so each item on their site has a footprint tab detailing its social and environmental impact.
- When were you happiest in your life?
If the sun’s shining and I’ve got good company, I’ll be smiling. People and sun, that’s my jam.
- What's the one thing you wish you knew 20 years ago?
Do I only get to choose one? I’d say an understanding that it’s not our job to try and figure out/solve everything.
- What matters the most to you in your work?
I really want Brothers We Stand to be a useful service that helps people find ethically made clothes. If I can do that, I’ll be happy.
